Hey there! I'm Andrea--aka Annie to some of my friends...

I graduated from Wheaton College with a BS in Kinesiology--the study of human movement. My education involved, among other things, a healthy dose of anatomy, physiology, motor development, sport psychology, and biomechanics. During this time, I was honored to be chosen as the recipient of both the Midwest ACSM Best Undergraduate Oral Presentation award for an original research project and also for my own school's Kenneth S. Roughton scholarship, awarded to two outstanding seniors in Kinesiology.

After college, I gained a few key certifications, including the following:

  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (National Strength & Conditioning Association)
  • Health & Fitness Instructor (American College of Sports Medicine)
  • Performance Enhancement Specialist (National Academy of Sports Medicine)
  • Sports Performance Coach (USA Weightlifting)
In addition, I had the opportunity to serve on an Exam Development Board for ACE (American Council on Exercise) in 2004 and attend a number of conferences & workshops to develop training techniques. In March of 2008, I began work on a Master's degree in Corrective Exercise through A.T. Still University.

Overall, I am passionate about movement. Given my love of fun and laughter, sitting still is just plain difficult! More importantly, I consider it a tremendous privilege to work with individuals to accomplish their goals--whether it be weight loss, improving a back injury, sports performance, or simply strength for daily life. It is a responsibility that I don't take lightly, and I hope to encourage you to dedication in the adventure of pursuing your own goals.
